Edgeworthstown Easter Rising Reenactment

Images from a re-enactment of the battle of the GPO in the Easter Rising 1916, which took place on 1st May 2016 at The Green, Edgeworthstown. This was created by Pauline Flood and enacted by the Mostrim Players and community members from Edgeworthstown. 

The key figures and events from Easter Week are brought together, including: the funeral of Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa and Pearse's oration at the graveside; the reading of the Proclamation by P.H. Pearse, (Padraig Mac Piarais); the charge of The O'Rahilly; the wounding of James Connolly; the retreat to Moore Street; the negotiation for surrender with Elizabeth O'Farrell; the surrender and culminating with the executions of the leaders of the Rising.
