Granard Harp Festival
Féile Chruite Ghránaird

The first harp festival in Ireland was held in Granard in 1781, supported by Granard-born businessman John Dungan. The festival ran again in 1782 and 1785. The festival was revived in 1981, led by parish priest, Canon Gilfillan and the Trustees of the Granard Harp Festival. This festival ran for many years and a Harp School was also established to promote the playing of the harp and traditional harp music.
After an interlude, the festival is being revived in 2018, with a programme of events celebrating the best of traditional harp and Irish music.
