Dates for Padraic Colum International Literary Weekend 2019 17th- 18th May
Each year County Longford proudly honours the legacy of one of its most famous sons, Padraic Colum, an acclaimed writer of international renown. This year the Padraic Colum International Literary Weekend will take place from Friday, May 17th to Saturday, May 18th and will form part of a literary month in Longford. The other two Literary festivals taking place in Longford during this month are Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival (May 9th-12th) and The Goldsmith International Literary Festival (May 31st-June 2nd).
This years Gathering promises to be a wonderful festival celebrating all aspects of Colum’s life and work, with talks, walks, workshops, a commemorative concert, and of course, the second year of the Padraic Colum International Poetry Competition.
