The Song of the Snowdrop Fairy
The Song of the Snowdrop Fairy
by Cecily Mary Barker

When I looked out my kitchen window this morning (January 19th) I was greeted with the first blooms of Spring. Much to my surprise, Aunt Julia's snowdrops were in bloom.
The following poem, (from my youth) came to mind. Hope you all enjoy it.
Deep sleeps the Winter,
Cold, wet, and grey;
Surely all the world is dead;
Spring is far away.
Wait! the world shall waken;
It is not dead, for lo,
The Fair Maids of February
Stand in the snow!
