BorrowBox   eBooks and eAudiobooks

     
BorrowBox is an online eBook and eAudiobook service that allows our Library members to download items on to their devices.  This service works on the same principle as checking out a physical book from the Library in that you are permitted to have the item on your device for 3 weeks at a time.

Longford Libraries are pleased to announce that we have a new free online storytime resource for children with stories in over 50 languages including Ukrainian.

LOTE Online for Kids allows children to enjoy the magic of books in World Languages from the comfort of home.  Each book is provided with an English translation to help develop multilingual reading and listening skills. 

To login to LOTE Online for Kids, scroll to the bottom of the homepage and type "Longford County Council" into the box labelled "Find your Library to login".  Click "Go" and on the following page, enter your Library card number and click "Submit".  You can now select the language in which you wish to listen to stories. 

Languages include Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Arabic, Cantonese, Portuguese (Brasilian), French, and many, many more.

Ancestey.com  Genealogy Resource


Ancestry.com is a valuable genealogy resource tool.  This resource is only available on our Library Branch network, so if you wish to avail of it please, please call in to your local Branch Library.

 

        null    The Irish Times Digital Archive

The Irish Times Digital Archive is available online at all Longford County Library branches through www.askaboutireland.ie The archive contains the entire Irish Times from it's first edition in 1859 to the present. It is fully searchable - just enter your search term and then view the results or else browse the paper by selecting the edition you require.
