Film Mentorship Award 2025

The objective of the Film Mentorship Award is to support the professional development of an emerging filmmakers by providing them with a structured mentorship opportunity with a professional film production company.

The successful applicant will receive mentoring from an established film production company (Harp Media) over a ten-month period. Depending on the mentee’s specific interests, they can be provided with structured learning opportunities in the following areas:

  • Film funding landscape, funding pathways and film pitches
  • Grant writing skills
  • Preparing for meetings
  • Managing human resources
  • Script-writing feedback and review
  • Preproduction and planning
  • Production work experience
  • One-to-one feedback sessions

The award emphasises the value and benefits to an emerging filmmaker derived from an extended process of engagement with experienced filmmakers.

  • Mentee will receive a grant of €500 towards expenses incurred during mentorship programme.
  • Mentor will receive €3000 towards costs incurred providing the mentorship programme.

Applicants can come from any arts discipline or background.

Assessment Process 

Application will be processed by Longford County Council Arts Office. Applications that fall outside of the eligibility criteria may be eliminated at this point. Longford County Council reserves the right to redirect applications for consideration to appropriate categories other than those applied for, should it be deemed beneficial to the applicant to so do. All eligible applications will be considered by an adjudicating panel that comprises of two independent assessors with relevant experience and expertise.

Arts Bursary Award 2025 outcomes will be issued to all applicants in mid-January 2025.
