This townland lies along the N.W. side of the River Inny, and is surrounded by the tds. of Ratharney, Cloon-brin and Abbeyshrule in this parish, of Clynan in Forgney Ph., and of Tennalick and Cole Hill in the parish of Tagh-shinny.
It is the property of the Countess Dowager of Ross, held by deed for ever, and contains 415 acres, of which 14� acres are water. The whole of the land surface is cultivated. The townland pays �24 5s. 9d. to County Cess. It has part of Cole Hill Demesne on its N. W. side, and the village of Abbeyshrule on its S. side. In this village are a Roman Catholic Chapel, a Police Station, and a bridge called Webb's Bridge. The Royal Canal runs through this townland.
