This townland is situated N. of Polladooey, and is bounded on the E. and N.E. by Lough Gowna for about 1 mile. It contains 402 acres.
In the S. end of this townland and close to the Lough is a neat cottage, that takes its name from the townland. It is tastefully, but not extensively, sheltered by young fir plantations. Little more than miles N. of the Cottage, on the edge of the Lough, are two small plantations. A road strikes off the main road from Ballinalee to Arva leading to Granard keeping close to the west boundary for 52 chains. There are only 3 or 4 small patches of bog interspersed with arable in this townland.
