Highlighting the biodiversity of your area

Library of Flora & Fauna Illustrations

In 2015 Rusty Lemon Design, owned by Mary Fleming, a Lanesborough-based illustrator and graphic designer made her back catalogue of illustrations of birds, insects, plants and animals available to Longford County Council, to allow local community-based groups and not-for-profit organisations use the images in the promotion of the county's natural heritage, and raising awareness about our flora and fauna. They may include informational signage on villages, walks or scenic locations for example. This will not only help raise awareness of the biodiversity within your area, but will greatly assist in efforts in community-based projects, such as Tidy Towns.

Over time, further images will be commissioned by Longford County Council and added to the database.

The images will be made available to organisations free of charge for projects within the county, strictly for non-commercial use. Please contact the County Heritage Officer for more details on how to obtain the high-resolution, non-watermarked images. Organisations outside County Longford, may licence the images at a reduced licencing fee directly from Rusty Lemon Design.
