Joining Your Local Library

Join your library for free by bringing along your photo ID (for example, a passport, driver licence or student card) and proof of address to your local library. You can also join online. Under 18s looking to join will need a parent or guardian to provide their photo ID and proof of address.

When joining online you will be able to reserve items straight away. However you will not be able to borrow items or use Internet facilities until you collect your library card.

You can use your library card to borrow items and use internet services from any public library nationwide. 

You can borrow a maximum of 12 items at any time for a maximum of three week.

Libraries also have photocopying, printing, and scanning services for members.
