Conservation Grant Schemes for Protected Structures now open for 2027

The Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage recently announced that its three conservation grant schemes for essential repairs to historic protected structures are now open for applications. Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2027 (BHIS 2027)

For essential repairs to historic Protected Structures to be undertaken between January and September 2027. Grant amounts between  €2500 and €20,000 to a maximum of €50,000.

BHIS 2027 Historic Thatch Buildings Stream

This is a stream within the BHIS which gives a small, supplementary grant to historic thatched buildings.

Historic Structures Fund 2027

This scheme assist the large scale conservation and enhancement of historic structures and buildings, with a particular benefit to communities and the public, or that demonstrate a residential benefit.  This is a very competitive grant scheme that awards grants of €50,000 to €200,000.
