Culture night celebrates the growing eclectic diversity of arts, culture and creativity right across Ireland. It is described by organisers as "One night for us all to come together for a shared experience celebrating the richness and diversity of culture, creativity and the arts from town to town, city to city and coast to coast.”
The popular event happens every September and is made possible by the work put in by different creatives, volunteers, artists, galleries, museums, workshops, sports clubs, libraries and more. Last year there were 24 separate events on in County Longford.
County Longford Arts Service has a limited grant fund available to support individuals or organisations with the delivery of their event. The grant may cover costs such as venue rental, publicity, and materials.
Those who wish to apply for a grant are invited to log on to Longford County Council website and complete the online application form available on the Art page. It may be found by navigating through the Services Menu, and selecting Arts followed by Culture Night 2023 in the left hand side bar.
