Small grant scheme with up to €1,000 to help with publication costs for local history books

A small grant scheme to assist with the publication costs of local history books has been launched by Longford Library, Arts, Archives and Heritage, part of Longford County Council.
Individual grants of up to €1,000 are available, with only grant per group. Total funding for this small grant scheme is €5,000. The contents of every book to be funded must relate to County Longford either throughout or for a significant proportion of the book.
Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Mark Casey welcomes the launch of this scheme. "County Longford is extremely fortunate to have many excellent local historians, with this scheme helping to publish excellent books already. I look forward to seeing the books that will result from this new scheme. You have until Monday, 2 June to apply. I encourage anyone thinking of applying to do so."
