Ambassador of Morocco Visits Edgeworthstown Library

County Longford Library Services was delighted to welcome His Excellency Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco Lahcen Mahraoui to Edgeworthstown Library last Saturday May 21st.

 

Ambassador Mahraoui fulfilled a number of engagements during his visit which was part of local celebrations ahead of Africa Day. The invitation came about as a result of Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Peggy Nolan reaching out to His Excellency.

 

Ambassador Mahraoui was welcomed to County Longford by Cathaoirleach Cllr Peggy Nolan. The first meeting took place in the Library where the Ambassador was given a tour of the new state-of-the-art facility. Longford Chief Executive Paddy Mahon and County Librarian Paula Mulry were also in attendance.

 

Following this, the Ambassador visited Maria Edgeworth Centre, which included a tour led by Matt Farrell. The Ambassador learned of the history of Maria Edgeworth and of the centre.
