Name our Sensory Collection

Competition Time!

Longford Libraries are delighted to announce our new sensory resource collection, which comprises of specialist equipment, toys, and books. The sensory items have been carefully chosen to provide a relaxing, comforting, or stimulating sensory experience for people who might benefit from using them. The sensory toy collection also offers specific toys and equipment which can help parents, caregivers, or professionals on their sensory journeys in figuring out what items help themselves or the person they are supporting.

These may be accessed free of charge by anyone who lives, works, or is in education in Longford. 

And to help us get the word out there about this new initiative, we would like your help in naming the collection for your chance to be in with winning a €200 One4AllVoucher!

Longford Libraries is a community resource, and we would like your input into the naming of this collection.

The entries must include the following:

• As it is based in Longford the new name for our sensory collection must use the word Fort/Ford as the theme (A fort is a safe space for all)
• The name must be short (4-5 words max)
  
  

Eligibility and How to Enter

This competition is open to all age groups with no age cap. One entry per person. All contestants must be members of Longford Libraries. 

Entries can be submitted through the below online form or via the downloadable form, which is also available in all our libraries. Entries can be handed into any of our libraries or emailed to sensory@longfordcoco.ie.  

Entries must be submitted by 2pm or close of business on Saturday, 30 September 2023. 

Judging panel

The judges selected consist of an official from Longford County Council, a staff member from Longford Libraries, and a certified play therapist. The judge’s decision is final.

Prizes and Announcement

The competition was launched on Friday, 1 September 2023.

Entries must be submitted by 2pm or close of business on Saturday, 30 September 2023.

The winner will be announced on Friday, 20 October 2023 by Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Colm Murray.

Prize for 1st place is a €200 One4All voucher. All entries will be placed in a draw for a €100 One4All voucher. 

The winner’s names will appear on our website and social media platforms with their consent.
