Archives Collections

The collections held by Longford County Archives fall into two categories: local authority and private.

Local authority collections comprise those of County Longford Grand Jury, Longford Poor Law Union, Granard Poor Law Union, Ballymahon Poor Law Union, Longford Rural District Council, Granard Rural District Council, Ballymahon Rural District Council, Longford County Council, Longford Urban District Council/Town Council and Granard Town Commissioners/Town Council.

Private collections include material from landed estates, families, businesses, individuals and organisations.
