This townland is situated on the north side of the River Inny, on the road from Carrickboy to Ballinacarrow Bridge, and is surrounded by the townlands of Castle Wilder, Castlewilder Glebe, Ardanragh, Lissawarriff and Agharra Glebe in this parish; Ballynacarrow and Ballymaglavy in the parishes of Kilmacnevan and Piercetown, Co. Westmeath; and Cloonbrin in the parish of Abbeyshrule.
This townland belongs to Mr. Wilder, held by deed forever. It contains 413� acres, about one-fifth of which is bog, with about 6 acres of plantation, and the remainder cultivated. The road from Carrickboy to Ballinacarrow Bridge runs through it. It has one quarry, one old church, one corn mill, and two bridges, one of which is called Ballinacarrow Bridge.
